This game now runs perfectly with max everything.
However - getting into a game is imposible. The join random server is simply broken, servers are always full which you would think it would work around.
Secondly, I got into a game, and as soon as I went to shoot at someone I got kicked by punkbuster.
WTF?
Why is this game so ANTI me playing it. Finally have a system it will run on and I can't even get into a game.

Use the server list - using the play now button jas NEVER worked for me. Update punkbuster manually from the evenbalance website. This game conforms to the recent trend of releasing piss poor, broken, half-tested games

DOne - anyone up for a game tonight?
Any sign of that co-op DLC coming to the PC version?

fal. gratz on getting upgrade sorted. i take it you managed to get delivery sorted with ebuyer or did you have to use another supplier?
i would love to play BC2 but its going to be impossible for a number of weeks. alas my MSI 5850 ATi card is broken. I'm currently waiting for warranty support.
hopefully we will ALL have a game again at some point. look forward to silky smooth framerates like you after my upgrade (cpu is letting me down). wont bother upgrading till i find out whats going on with my gfx card though obviously :/

We need to get back into multiplayer.
Played solo the other day, was fun but needed non-retarded team mates

I'm getting a better idea of what sort of weapons set up works and think I should be a good deal sharper than before.
Count me in if you guys are playing online!

New patch tomorrow. Patch notes are here; forums.electronicarts.co.uk/bc2-pc-service-update/1088496-client-r8-server-r12-qa.htmlHowever, i'd like to highlight a couple of changes; Server - Infantry only mode available per-levelGameplay - Knifing people in the back works again (we backed out the change that we had done for Server R11)Gameplay - Hit box for moving targets expands based on the speed of the targets movementAwesome. And these are the weapon balances; Slightly increased the damage of the UZI at long range. The AKs74u now has more felt recoil when aiming. The G3, VSS, and all SemiAutomatic rifles now settle slightly faster between shots when aiming. The PKM, Type 88LMG, G3, An94, and 40mm shotgun have returned to their former glory. Increased the damage of the MG3 to bring it in line with the rest of the LMGs. Fixed a bug where the Saiga12 with slugs would do too much damage at long range. Fixed a bug where the SVU would do too little damage at long range. Fixed a bug where M95 rounds would not kill armored targets with headshots.

Awesome BC2 Field Of View Guide with calculator to get the best out of your resolution. badcompanytwo.com/news-tidbits/bc2-field-of-view-guide/will try this tonight, i bet im at a right disadvantage compared to some. i want to see more! here is an animated gif to demonstrate (looks like 90-95 is the sweet spot for me) but to get that i need to enter 59 in the ini file for the FOV setting (combines vertical and horizontal hence the calc tool):

I read something a while back about for Field of view works -- And i'm sure the perfect FOV settings is different for everyone based on your screen size, resolution and even pixels per inch.
The article I read was based on TF2, which has had the option to change it for a while... But I can't find it now.
I also noticed how this article mentions it's for RETAIL copies? So, does it not affect Steam versions?

So, does it not affect Steam versions? No, the guide in question (refraining from any Barnett-Time jokes) was written during beta, which is when I read it. It mentions retail in the sense of "live version", not "beta version" of the game...

barnett time? lolstu. i remember perfectly well what you posted did your post talk about a calculator? did you explain how in BC2 the vertical and horizontal attributes were combined? I SUBMIT THAT YOU DID NOT! did i post something additional that i found useful in regards to altering a field of view and share this info on the relevant thread to add to an existing knowledge base in order to BUMP the idea that this could be something useful for those who may not have read the post or forgotten? I SUBMIT THAT I DID!
