So who's getting this? It's out this friday, and i've had the "its on its way" dispatch confirmation email today. The single player demo sucked, thats a given, but the multiplayer sounds very nice, with the unlockable "perks" system adding some sense of originality to the mix

The reviews I read have actually been saying that the full single player game is rather good.. With some really cool bits in it. Unfortunetly, it's shorter than a midget! My has also been dispatched

My has also been dispatched I'll play the single player onthe side, but i'm mainly in it for the multiplayer, especially after watching that perks video. The persistent stats and gaining of xp to unlock "dozens" of new guns, gear and perks is just totally my bag, baby, BF2 style!

Ok, so within about 3 seconds of starting the first mission you know your onto something special (by mission, i mean proper mission, not the training level! even if CQB training is cool).
Despite earlier suggestions i was mainly after the multiplayer, this first mission as SAS has changed my mind completely!
The demo mission was just a sucky mission. Poor choice of demo level!

Ok, without sounding like a fucking fanboy here, this game has totally blown me away.
After that single player demo, which to be honest, was pants, the single player has totally blown me away! It's incredible, great action and set pieces, graphics are niiiice, fantastic soundtrack, and the story is kinda scary how plausible it really is. I bought this game for the multiplayer, but damn, the single player alone was well worth the entrance fee.
Stu seal of approval. Will probably be voted game of the year.
And rik, it's nowt like the other CoD games, not that they were bad! First few missions have been SAS infiltration, now im invading "Generic-stan" in the middle east as part of the U.S invasion force, a bit of a different pace of play.

Ok, me and si tried the multiplayer tonight, and in short: its good.
There's a few server teething-problems at the mo, no disconnects, just occasional lag-spikes and i can't connect to some servers, but si can, a DNS problem on Infinity Wards end that will be sorted within a day or two, but regardless, its very cool.
We only played Team Deathmatch (despite there being lots of game types), but basically there's 3 basic classes available at the start; Assault, Spec-Ops and Support, and within 5 minutes you'll have unlocked Demolitions and Sniper.
Within about 15 mins you'll have unlocked "Creat-a-class" which really is what its all about - choose your primary gun + attachments and camo pattern, secondary weapon + attachments, grenade type, then your 3 "perks" (you can have 3 on at a time). Attachments range from several types of scopes and dot sights, silencers etc etc. The kind of perks i have started with are like "increased health", "increased bullet penetration", useful but bland things - the cool stuff is there to unlock like matyrdom and last stand.
There's simply loads of stuff to unlock, there's 55 levels, you gain xp for kills, wins and even loses, and each level brings with it a new piece of kit or perk etc. I believe camo and attachments are earnt via "challenges", which i think are like "most kills in a game"/"most headshots", i dunno, that kinda thing i think. However, i just watched a video review and they claim you unlock attachments by using a particular gun a lot, so i don't know until i find some kinda guide onthe net i guess.
Another cool little thing is you get instant use rewards for kill streaks - get 3 kills in a row (obviously without dying) and deploy a UAV for your team, get 5 kills im a row, call in an airstrike on the enemy. 7 kills and its chopper air support. Very simply system but very effective.
Still much to explore, but my initial report, as you may have guessed from my posts, is a resounding "zomg". Which is good. Obviously.
Roll on lvl41 - i want my M14!

Ok with the sheer amount of 'FANBOY' posts that Stu has managed over a pretty short space of time, I have decided to go and get the game. So expect me online in game about 11 o'clock today.

If you guys are on tonight, would be good to get a little squad of us playing No cover system because the game has destructable cover, in multiplayer, if someone is behind a car - fire a rocket at the car and see what happens Besides, i prefer the real life cover system of just getting the fuck down under fire (crouch, prone) when you then cant see shit - ie, realistic, compared to hugging a wall and magically getting a nice view of everything around it without sticking your head out!

Stu:
"Each weapon that you're capable of using in combat will have Marksman and Expert challenges for it; you can complete the Marksman challenges by killing enemies, while the Expert challenges can only be completed by getting headshots with the weapon. Marksman challenges will unlock new attachments for the given weapon, like reflex sights or silencers. Expert challenges will unlock new camo schemes for the weapon."

Good thing is I like plain black weapons then, cause spray´n´pray is my favourite tune.

Ok so I like it. BUT If I have to play on that tiny container map again with more than 8 people max, I'm gonna throw a sodding fit.
