So far I have enjoyed AOC the combat system is good. The ganking has started now which is a shame since most areas are now a no go own your own. But that will change

It doesnt hold your hand, it doesnt tell anything other than the stuff you need to move and kill. It doesn't need the best pc (unless you want to play at anything above medium) KDS are already a 40 plus man guild TSA and rDe are here It's pvp oriented. Kill one of us and 10 of you die Give it a go, yes its an mmo with mmo foundations, but its the first mmo that we have had the chance to really hark back to the SWG days. Up to you ! ALKAW ! If you are there tailing Stus comments

How are things going with Conan?
Realistically I'll have no time to play this for around 2 - 3 weeks so going to give it a bit more time before I take the plunge!
Is the ganking bareable? Am hearing bad things about loading times leading to spawn killing etc.
KDS and rDe griefing each other yet?

Not seen any problems with any loading times myself and if any would it would be me Good fun so far, not seen any rDe about myself, but I have been ganked by TSA a fair few times. You can avoid all pvp if you wish until lvl 20, so when you do decide to join us, its pretty much a cakewalk. I have just hi lvl 22 and am now in the outside world and its nice. Just visited the site of where our guild city is going to be located, it is kind of on a plateau but with a mountain behind it for defense. You can see whatever is heading your way for miles. Highest lvl guild member is 39 as I write this, which is mental, but i suppose with so many of them having played it for months in beta they are just rushing to set up the city. Of back in game now.

Some questions...
What is the casting system like?
Is there a 'rogue' class?
How many characters can you create per account?
What is crafting like?
Has anyone fought other players yet?
Is there any obvious imbalance out of the box re character pvp?
Is it a grind?
What is the max level?
Are there instances? If so, what are they like?

What is the casting system like?
Not too sure since I have gone for a barb
Is there a 'rogue' class?
Yes 3 types
How many characters can you create per account?
8
What is crafting like?
wont know till level 40
Has anyone fought other players yet?
Yes all the time
Is there any obvious imbalance out of the box re character pvp?
Not that I have seen so far.
Is it a grind?
Not at the moment with lots of quests to do.
What is the max level?
80
Are there instances? If so, what are they like?
Yes but I have not done any yet.
Each day I am learning more about what to do and what to use and so far I am hooked:P The combat system is fun and killing mobs is not getting boring yet.

3 Rogue classes?
This alone puts me off going caster.
Am I stuck in a wow mentality?

Yes you are. All can use stealth and you can not get stun locked in this game like you can is wow. The best CC so far I have seen was only for 2 seconds.
It's nice to feel like you have some control back instead of watching yourself die while you can do nothing about it like in wow.

I've rolled a caster and I must say i'm loving the necro. I haven't been overly griefed by any rogue architype. I am lvl 23 and I have three undead minions wandering round with me all the time, plus the occasional extra one when I hit some criteria on a kill. I have some fantastic AOE moves if any one comes near me that just leech all life away. I was getting killed yesterday by a member of TSA a couple of times in Purple Lotus Swamp, after two kills I was able to Hide from him successfully even though he has 10 levels on me. You get to put skill points in both hide and perception, but to hide you need to use shadows or cover. You can move around in hide but it drains your stamina and if you are on a wooden floor it makes a noise that people can hear

Mine was posted on wednesday, it oughta arrive today/tomorrow. Play.com have sent me a replacement code for the rhino mount, since the other one didn't work, and Funcom sent me an email today with a code to get me a "drinking cape" for being "a long time and active community member". Lol? i played the beta for an hour and hated it, and i get a reward?

Sounds better and better.
I had planned on a necro, though demonologist looks cool.
Will most likely roll a Necro and some Rogue style class, whilst Jan is going to roll the nearest thing to a mage on my account until she decides if she likes it.
Will order over the weekend!

I've been reading the class forums a lot this morning, trying to decide what to make. I like stealthy assassin-like classes that jump casters and 2 shot them, but assassin's have incredibly weak armour and im reading that post lvl40 they get pwned hard solo against multiple mobs... I also considered a ranger, but melee classes running around you in a circle, which is the easy wayto beat them, doesnt sound fun... Other alternative is a medium/heavy armour wearing DPS kinda solider, which i presume is Dark Templar/Conqueror (since barbarian wears light armour or summat). I'm reading healer classes are quite imba at the mo, priests in particular...

Going to have to do some reading myself. I'm leaning towards Necro, I loved the class in Diablo and I think it sounds similarish to Warlock.
I do want to have a healer class speccing along at the same time though, would be a pain not to have that to fall back on, and Falgorn turned out pretty awesome when I specced him holy.
