Pistols only will be completely ftw... I'm not surprised.. I guess they had to fix it before the demo went live to EVERYONE.. else people would be moaning. It was fun messing around as the infected. Only 8 days to go until I can do it again Yeah.. Smoker / Boomer combo was fun. Hunter seemed great but requires practice... Best part was convincing those guild people that we were developers and then telling them they would get full game 2 days early. Only thing better than that was them beleiving us. "Do you have any constructive feedback on the game so far?" "...yeah it rocks, but friendly ai isn't great"... "Yeah we toned them down before we launche the beta.. I mean demo"

yeah.. there is definately some good strategic co-op play as zombie if you work togethor... using the smoker to drag away a victim and them boomering them, or boomering a crowd and then dragging someone away in the confusion are excellent ways to quickly kill the survivors! HUnter best worked alone.. hiding in shadows and waiting for that lone survivor.. But again could be used in conjuction with a boomer attack to maximum carnage! And of course, the tank is just mental!

And of course, the tank is just mental! Tank probably shouldn't be playable - whilst awesome fun it is very very powerful (damage probably needs to be scaled back a bit).. Afaik in release only 1 person can be Zombie at a time so it's less likely to be taken advantage off. I'd say best ways to kill groups would be to boomer right at the same time as a rush...

Incorrect... I read an interview today with a valve employer... They were using teamwork in a game.. Multiple human zombies will be playable at once, having a respawn timer of about 20 seconds.. So the longer the survivors linger, the more chance they have of dying! Also, I played as tank the other night and it's not that easy. A tank can be taken down easily if you stay at a distance, spread out, and.. if a tank is chasing you.. RUN... They're slow and can't catch up. True, they can throw things at you, but that can be dodged if you're quick enough

You saw what they were doing to us last night, basically if we see a tank were screwed.. now imagine two at once...! No hope!! Lorcan - steam based game, similar deal as with TF2. It's pretty god damn awesome to say the least, totally recommend it. As for last night - man, my throat is sore today from laughing so hard. AI is really really strong, too many times I thought "the worst thing that could happen now would be a smoker behind all thos... SHIT SMOKER... HELP!!!1!!" Was a very fun experience and I'm frothing at the mouth for the full game.

I'm back. I've downloaded it and had a quick blast today. I concur with all comments about the game. I wish for full release right now. Very impressive indeed. Those set pieces when the horde come from everywhere are fantastic.

I love the game.. it's almost perfect. Some patches will iron that out. I do hope however, that someone will come up with a realism mod.. Slow the survivors down a bit (maybe make them get tired), limit pistol ammo, etc - A good challenge

Expert level is pretty challenging I find. A mod I would like to see is slower moving zombies no special zombies and really limited ammo. Make everyone have 1 health (you get hit u die) and add a lot of strategy to movement etc.
I'm sure it will happen and I'm equally sure it will rock.

Mods have been made Fal.. I tried a few last night.
Lone Wolf mod - 3rd person mode, on your own, no HUD, no smoker tongue or hunters
Slow mod - Slower zombies

I feel unlimited pistol ammo promotes run-n-gun, and less strategy.. In games i've played people don't worry about emptying clips on one zombie because there's always the "Wonka Everlasting Pistol Ammo" to fall back on...
I my self never blast away with automatic weapons anyway.. I tend to use short controlled bursts with the hoardes, and fall back to pistol for single zombies. I think limiting pistol ammo would promote the correct gun for the correct job!

I enjoyed it. Having only played it yesterday for the first time, I'm very impressed. The ramp up in difficulty in the levels is a bit harsh from normal to expert, but it was a nice challenge completing on expert.
Now I just need to try and watch my line of fire and all will be sweet.

Expert is harder now, but before the patch it was piss easy.. So it's good that there is a clear distiction now between the two modes.
As for your playing Rik.. Just some points.
1. If you're taking the lead, DUCK.. Allows people to fire over you.
2. Turn off a flashlight as soon as you hear there's a witch about... If that light gets in her eyes she'll go crazy and kill you, usually in one hit!
3. DO NOT GO NEAR THE WITTCH. DON'T EVEN LOOK AT HER!

That would be pretty hardcore.
In fairness - double pistols are actually fairly powerful, I would say almost equal to the first 2handed weapons you get. Obviously the M14, Auto Shotgun and Rifle are a vast improvment but still -

Also, don't judge the game by the demo levels.. I've heard that the full game levels are different.
I know from playing as the infected on the first level that part of it is missing.
But people say that the safe room on the second levels occurs much sooner than it does in the full game levels - Which u can view by using the noclip cheat - Definately checking that out tonight
