I personally thought the film was a disaster of writing and ideas... Effects over storyline every step of the way. Convoluted and unnecessary.
DVD quality should be fine enough for the effects.. Although i'm sure it won't take long for a Blueray rip.

As usual, simon missed the whole point And i remember as we left the cinema, Si asked some silly questions about stuff that happened "why this? why that?", stuff that was explained in the film - so clearly he just wasnt paying attention It's an awesome film, Rik, i'd say get the DVDrip. IMDB of 7.9/10 www.imdb.com/title/tt0409459/And Rorschach is awesome.

As usual, Stu acts all high and mighty when I disagree with his opinion and then tries to find excuses as to why he's right and i'm wrong. Deal with it Stuart... I thought the film was shit ... It's not the end of the world. Also, if we're using other peoples opinions review scores, Stuart.. Metacritic gives it 56/100.. obviously looking at the reviews on there, half of them must have missed the "point" that Stuart is talking about www.metacritic.com/film/titles/watchmenHad the film been edited and lost an hour in length I think it would have interested me more.. I don't remember the entire film now, but at the time I remember it delving into lots of storylines that didn't seem to go anyway.. Seemed like a waste, and frankly bored me.

Lol, i love you, Si. You skill at misrepresentation is epic So, on metacritic, based on 39 reviews in the media (american news papers etc) the film scored, on average, 56/100. Ok. But what, pre tell, did it score based on the 696 user reviews, on average, on metacritic? Hmmm? 7.5 out of 10 www.metacritic.com/film/titles/watchmen?q=watchmen

Hmmm? 7.5 out of 10 www.metacritic.com/film/titles/watchmen?q=watchmen I think you still need to explain to myself and some of those critics what exactly we missed? The answer.. Nothing (apart from the 40 mins that were cut for theatrical release anyway).. Just a mess of storytelling. Don't let your boner for the screenwriter influence you otherwise Also, Stuart.. based on your own conclusions in the past (Esp on GTA IV).. There is no such thing as a perfect film/ game/ etc - So if we discard the 20,000 silly people on IMDB (27%) who thought Watchmen was "PERFECT" - Fucking makes me laugh - The average score would drop sharply -- I'd work out the new score for you, but i've forgotten how to do it Anyway.. This conversation is pointless.. End of the day I thought the film sucked.. I think most comic book/ superhero films i've seen are sub-par -- It's just not my preferred genre of film.. The dark knight and the Crow being incredible exceptions to that

I loved the film Rorshach is possibly one of my all time top characters in any medium, and he was very well adapted to the screen. They avoided a 'Road Warrior' repeat with the kill scene that drove him insane but otherwise he was great. They also left out that he drove his Dr. Insane but I think it would have been impossible to adapt that.
Rik, get the movie and watch it, get the Blu Ray if you like it. It's something you will most likely watch more than once, even if it is only to see Malen Ackerman have her box plundered.
