Well, my copy of Dragon Age is pre-loaded into Steam, just waiting to be unlocked. Gonna get me a homosexual relationship, and kill some monsters. In the meantime, EA have an official (and well done) flash game companion to Dragon Age, called Journeys. www.dragonagejourneys.com/?sourceid=eag776It's basically how a flash game should be done. And the achievements and unlocks you gain from it carry over and earn you stuff in the main game, since you login with your EA account to play both

The screenshot is of myself, late last night.. As a human Mage, fresh from my experience with "the howling". Game seems ok so far so I'll stick with it for now.

Just 2 days ago you were doing the usual Greebo Si "meh, looks crap, i'll try it but i don't expect it'll hold me for more than an hour" thing. I can dig up the messenger chat logs if you like? And low and behold, you played it and seem to like it to the point it looks like you've played it for more than an hour What's any of that got to do with me "projecting opinions" or whatever crap you're rabbiting on about?!

See.. you're projecting opinions based on what you THINK I said.. I never said it looks "crap".. I did however say I don't expect to like it, and would probably get bored after an hour.. That's based on past experience, that I don't particularly like fantasy RPGs. I think that's a fair. As for stating an opinion on how it looks/ plays/ feels - Never did I do such a thing sir. Also, didn't take them long to crack and distribute all DLC packs tehparadox.com/forum/f43/dragon-age-origins-dlcs-591226/

Is there a Demo?
I'm all about the try before you buy these days.

You can grab the "demo" by typing "Dragon Age +rapidshare" into google and downloading .
Alternatively, the "demo" is usually hosted on all good torrent sites.

Multiplayer would water down the experience.

Whats a .chm file?
|
|
|
Post by si on Nov 6, 2009 13:57:25 GMT
it's compiled HTML.. - basically it's a website, all compressed into one file that runs in it's "own browser".. Just double click to run or does Win7 not support CHM files? Xp & Vista does! Had a quick look through the guide, seems quite good... How you finding Dragon Age?

"New RPG woes". The usual, understanding the ui, the systems, just generally wtf to do.
Both Dragon age and MW2 were dispatched yesterday via courier (though i only paid for the courier with DA, MW2 is supposed to have a 'free upgrade' to courier).
DA turned up about 11:30am. MW2 is yet to turn up -_-

As a noob RPG player, I found the interface and introduction to the game quite good. Usually i'm the first to say how bad most modern tutorials are.. But this game was pretty good in giving me the info I needed. I'm about 6 hours in and I've only really just started to assign combat commands to my AI party.. I expect to learn more as it goes on to. I think this guide I found may help though. I'm gonna give it a read tonight. As for this special courier? Was this because Royal mail planned further strikes on release day? So they've handed over to a third party company, who won't actually deliver it *until* release day anyway? Also.. Did you purchase the special edition.. I may have to purchase this game on the weekend to get the DLC working properly.. as it's doesn't work "properly" with cracked ones

No, i just bought a standard boxed copy. The DLC it included was the blood armour, for both DA and mass effect 2, some ring and the rock golem guy companion.
There is a proper piece of DLC available to buy, a whole chapter.
RE: the courier. Courier delivery is always next day. They were offering free upgrades to courier as both an incentive to buy and a way around the postal strike on such a big game.
Speaking to friends on facebook, ALL of theirs were dispatched yesterday, so it'll be interesting to see if anyones turns up.

I reckon the couriers have been ordered to dispatch on RELEASE DATE and not before.. Else Infinity Ward will throw a hissy fit and nuke china!
