Well, you have two choices! Stop being a dirty copyright infrigement bithc, or literally use the original filesharing systems - newsgroups, as you suggested. The article makes a good point though - If they plan to BLOCK websites used in fpiracy then Google is gonne get blocked because I use it to search for many types of files Google.com > "#filename# +rapidshare", click, download.

Why is Rapidshare unsafe? I thought that was also encrypted?

Why is Rapidshare unsafe? I thought that was also encrypted? No. Rapidshare downloads over a standard HTTP connection - They can easily see every single thing you ever look at/ download.

Like Caprica, The Pacific, 24 and Metro 2033 that i'm currently downloading? Ha. I've tried other download sites like Hotfile etc, and they all fucking suck hard at bandwidth speeds. Rapidshare will give you the max your connection allows, i found the others hugely lacking. So if torrents and rapidshare aren't gonna be safe for much longer, whats the alternatives?

As mentioned earlier in the Thread Stuart.. The place where all scene groups originally post there stuff.. The place where the RLSLog, Paradox websites, et al get it from in the first place... ... Newsgroups Not many people know about these mystical things and for that reason they are relatively safe from prying eyes -- Also servers are run by MANY different vendors making them hard to track and shutdown! Unfortunately they can be a pain in the ass at times.

Yeah, i read "newsgroups".
But that means absolutely nothing to me.
How would I use one?
How many are there?
What am I looking for?

cant be arsed to explain it all here. basically its the secured connection im interested in. this stops ISP's seeing what your downloading from a seemingly legitimate service. i could be encrypting my data because of my VPN connection to my workplace... OR i could be encrypting my data downloading a game via my newsgroup access. either way its not obvious. unlike rapidshare with your www.rapidshare.com/726382/OMGLOOKITSYOURMOM.avican chat about it on TS later if you wanna know whats what.

Many people are obscuring the rapidshare files names now I've noticed... The other day I download a film and the rapidshare filename was something like "blueprint pool_schematics.rar.part1" - Which obviously helps.
For Stu: A newsgroup is basically a forum - ONly all replies are in one long thread running in real-time. Special software is required to read these...
Ever downloaded a game in 10 RAR pieces only to find that inside these are 100 other RAR files? That's because it's been ripped off a newsgroup!
A newgroup is accessed via a server, which regularaly syncronises with other news servers - So data can be accessed between them. You usually have to pay for access, and sometimes it's charged per gigabyte downloaded.
I doubt BT will offer access to Newsgroups - At least not the BINARY newsgroups -- which is where the good stuff is hosted.

TBH - I wouldn't mind paying 5 for a film if I could get it online. I don't have enough space for DVD's everywhere - and tbh - FUCK YOU SONY, I'M NOT WATCHING 30 MINUTES OF ADS WITH A DISABLED 'SKIP' BUTTON YOU CUNTS.
If I can pay for downloadable movies with no cunting fuckwad ads, that I can use and re-use any way I want then I'm happy.
Even paying for shit films (90% of what is out there) would be justified if the overall cost was lower. €26 for a DVD that has massive user limitations is bollox. Considering you also have (have) (HAVE) to sit through ads and trailers is fucking disgusting. I can DL a hassle free, 14 min download movie with non of the shit for free.
There is no comparison.
Also - fuck you America, if I want to watch a movie, I want to watch it the same time as you fat ignorant fucking pricks. Another reason why DL > Purchase.
Untill movie companies stop being prick heads they can chew my asshole. I don't ever buy or download music anymore cos its all fucknig terrible. Not just bad, fucking terrible. Music is worse than fucking aids these days.
I hate 99% of everything.

Dude. You need to seek professional help.
The advert thing is annoying.. I *TRIED* to watch a DVD I rented last night and I *HAD TO* sit through 4 *FOUR* fucking trailors and a fucking Snickers advert in order to see the film!
