I'm not being a fanboi. Really, i take the piss out of Metallica as much as the next guy.
But I don't get it?
yeah, they used to wear jeans, t-shirts and look more "rawk", but now they're in their 40's and are millionaires?
But the sandals......ugh.
BTW Si - going to get Settlers 7 this morning - can we play it multi later so you can learn me good?

James hetfield buying shit from Armani is still a million miles away from how he acted during the filming of "Some kind of monster" - Which wasn't that long ago. I love the accompanying song lyrics though Also, Metallica, plays Jazz :S -- haven't heard it myself yet Stuart, Stuart, Stuart ... You're actually PURCHASING Settlers7? Have you played the previous ones? It's learning curve is pretty, well, vertical! I can teach you the very basics - production lines, recruiting soldiers, conquering sectors, et al. ...But even i'm still learning how to do research, navigate tech-trees and conduct trading. Play the first couple of caimpaign missions (tutorials) to learn the very basics, and design your castle in the Castle Forge

Simon, that youtube is so fake. If it's really "off the soundboard", why can't you hear any ambiance or crowd? It's someone trying to play Sandman jazzy and putting it over a video of them live. It sounds too "studio" to be live. In fact, the vocals are straight from the studio track. Super lame. You just got Rickrolled. And simon - your superiority complex over a little game of Settlers is amusing. True, i've never gone for them in the past, but don't presume that makes me a luddite who can't deal with complex games (Birth of the Federation anyone?). I was playing complex games before you even owned a PC, kiddo

Stuart - You GAMES folder looks fairly empty :S Also, I selected ENGLISH and Mine said "The Settlers: 7" Seems it launched with these errors, but the auto-patcher patched them and now it's in english. And barnett, rather than making gay sigs, how about you sort out the TS server which is down again -_-

Exactly like every other game whereby you need to gather resources, to increase population and create other goods. Key word: Exactly. The best bit, thus far, is the castle customisation. Seems ok, although the graphics quality doesn't justify the pressure it puts on your machine. And the anti-aliasing is the biggest pile of FSAA fail i've ever seen. I thought FSAA smoothed jagged edges? In this is smears your screen with Vaseline and makes everything blurry. And seriously barnett. Teamspeak server. Christ, i'm this close to getting myself a server with a reputable provider...

Well, I wouldn't say exactly - Not played many of these myself - Settlers 2,4,6,7, All of age of Empires series, Ceasar 4, Imperial Romanum, et al. -- And the game mechanics required to succeed are different from them. An uninformed person though who plays an hour of each - could think that MW2 and Bad Co. 2 are EXACTLY the same I haven't noticed a graphical strain on my system tbh, but the smearing can be a little outputting.. Hopefully a patch can sort that

Settlers 7: considering the gfx are dx9c i was quite impressed with how they look. TS3: ive only experienced one dropout with my server and as far as reputable servers go i though multiplay were up there with the best. either way let me know because we dont need 2. i'll raise a ticket with them tomorrow. reply letting me know all the issues and when they happened. maybe they can fix it.

Yeah but, it does feel like i've played this game before.
The victory point system is ok, but the basics remain the same as every other one of these kinda games.
---> Build Mine/Farm/Cyber-Pod/"Resource-gathering building X" to generate a resource income. ---> Build Refinery/Mill/Cyber-processor/"tier 2 resource-processing building X" to turn the resource into a useable tool and/or resource for higher tier units/buildings.
Getting the idea?
It's an ok game, I'll be playing it, but it's nothing new. Just prettier (debatable) GFX and some new victory mechanics.
And to be fair, it takes about 5 minutes for any non-retarded person to see that BFBC2 and MW2 are nothing alike. One is a team game, where your personal performance matters little when it's not benefiting the team. The other is a series of fast-paced 1-on-1 duels, laced up in a team-objective based game, that really only exists to keep players moving to focal points where they'll have their next fast-paced 1-on-1 duel.

Yeah, sorry barnett. I was just pissed. It's back up now, but it went down for about 20-30 mins, and it's fairly frequent (comparatively). I vented and now i'm fine

I was talking about Single player Stuart But you didn't expect Settler7 to be COMPLETELY different from anything else did you? NO game Most games these days they all just get slightly better than the last one. And tbh, you say that it takes 5 mins for someone to realise that they are not the same [in multiplayer] - I simply don't believe you with the amount of dickheads in Bad Co.2 RE: S7, The castle sutomisation is AWESOME.. I just wish that had more effect on the main game. I'll show you how to play it properly later
