well... its out today and Gamespot gave it a score of 10. uk.gamespot.com/wii/action/supermariogalaxy2/index.htmlhmmm really gamespot? hmmm are you sure? Does the inclusion of Yoshi this time round that much better? call me cynical but for a game to be 10/10 it would physically have to leap out the screen and force my eyes to fixation until i have completed the game. Fallout 3 for me was the only game that ever came close to this. I liked the original mario galaxy but it got tedious and i couldn't be arsed to complete it. To summarise i will have do a to do a 'try before i buy' on this one MODDED WII FOR THE WIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!

I've had this "discussion" with Greebo Si before, for me - a game that's 10/10 has to be perfect.....and there'll never be a perfect game.
Percentage scoring systems are much better, in my opinion.

Think you guys need to read this: uk.gamespot.com/misc/reviewguidelines.html?tag=scoresummary%253Breview-guidelinesA 10/10 game is NOT the most prefect game in existence.. Gamespot define it as "a game that is as perfect as a game can aspire to be at its time of release." Also Stuart.. How can you compare to perfect, if a perfect game doesn't exist?! You can only compare it against other games that are currently out -- This is what Gamespot state they do. Simples. /thread

No.
10/10 is the best score than can give it.
It's not perfect. I'm gonna play it now just to find a fault.

Yes. I'm right. Nowhere int he Gameplay scoring system does it say 10 is a perfect game.. Stop being so narrow minded.

So if the perfect game gets released, its a motherfucker and ticks every box, couldn't be improved upon....what score do they give it?....
.....10/10, the same as "ok" games...

"ok" in your opinion, but a review does not tailor to *your* opinion. A review is there to enlighten people in to how good a game is. a 10/10 tells people that if you like Mario you should DEFINATELY get the game, and if you own the console, or are interested in similar games you should DEFINATELY try it out. Of course you'll try and purposely pick faults at it just because, but that's no indication of a game not being 10/10-- "the best example of that type of game at the current time" At Uni all work was marked on a scale of 1-15.. I got some 15's for some work.. Does it mean the work was perfect!? NO! Stop over complicating a VERY SIMPLE point scale system
