I'd be up for helping you to be honest, i have no programming knowledge, but i'm good with ideas and that kinda stuff I'll give you a text later. The ultimate goal really should be to make a fun little game to get onto the app store...

think you need to hand over some hard cold cash for a license before you can export to iphone but that would be the long term goal. Need to get a few good playable pc games out there first. lets have a meeting on teamspeak, find out realistically what we can achieve individually and what time we can all spare so we can set realistic goals and timescales.
this could be an interesting venture i'd be more than happy to pour time and maybe at some point, money into.
Meanwhile i'll install unity on my shit pc tonight. might be able to learn on there till i get my good pc fixed.

iPhone development doesn't interest me. Especially because you have to pay $300/$1500 (pro) for the iPhone Unity kit... Also, you need to have an Apple Developer account (Approx $99/year) and then the entire thing has to be installed on a Mac in order to use the Apple API (Aprrox $1199). For iPhone development equals approx $1598.. No thanks PC/ Mac Development = FREE!

You shouldn't just say "if I get a good game idea it's going on iPhone" -- That's a lame way to view things. Take this game: www.minecraft.net/ -- Still in development, but he's selling access to the ALPHA version. He sells it for €9.95.. Which means he's made €224,004 in just over a year, with no upfront costs, and without Apple taking 30%! I love the PC's open platform

yes i get that but the route to market makes selling on the iphone app store potentially lucrative despite apples cut. thats why people invest you need money to make money as they say. its all about maximisation. business lesson number 1 but thats a long way off. i'm only saying if it could be done you would be a fool not to look into it if your serious about making games and money. fair point i feel.

Oh definately, if your game design fits a phone design. My "Survival Island" for example would not easily fit to the controls of a phone... And i'd have to cut out my coconut physics

Oh definately, if your game design fits a phone design. My "Survival Island" for example would not easily fit to the controls of a phone... And i'd have to cut out my coconut physics hehe, that was pretty funny. trouble is though i'd much rather code in c# than javascript. dont know how that would work. care to help design a space engine? i need planets, speed and asteroids. i'll make some 3d models, would be cool to test the import feature. i've written it all down on paper i have a good game design with diagrams. i'll scan it and send it to you

Javascript & C# have similar syntax. Most examples of scripting with the unity engine are in Javscript, and as I use Javascript everyday at work i'm pretty good with it. You can mix and match scripts though -- My script to control the camera in my game was a prefabed C# script which I modified I'd reccomend completing tutorials and examples on the Unity site before doing anything... I downloaded a few more tutorials on the weekend that i'm going to work through.

We'll have a TS talk about it. I only mentioned the app store because it's a gold mine if you have a good idea.
I know I for one have bought many a 59p game. It all adds up...

if you can come up with an engine that involves thrust, gravity, racing, collidable objects and slingshots. you would be a god among friends. i'll make the 3d models and sounds / music. and we'll have a great game. like i said, i've got it all planned. a multiplayer arcade space racer that i've been thinking about for years.
obviously they are just the basics. we'll discuss more tonight.
