So far, very good game! Multiplayer is fun... More importantly, i'm running it in "very high" and it's silky smooth

Ok, multiplayer is really good. The Nanosuit adds some interesting gameplay mechanics to the mix. The gunplay is your standard fair, there's perks and weapon attachments ala every FPS these days, but the super jumps, slides, stealth, suit armour, stealth melee executions add a cool twist. And it's all linked up to mycrysis.com. Example A; I'm moving along in stealth, come up behind an enemy, stealth execute the fuck, but whilst i'm doing that, another guy see's me and opens fire, so i sprint like a mofo straight at him, then after about a second, I hit "crouch" to put me into a slide (thus dropping me below his firing line) and spray and pray at his groin until he dies

Me on the other hand, the game fucking sucks. That is... till i get the new Core i5 2500K CPU lol

But obviously since then i've upgraded my card, so...

watch this appalling Nintendo 3DS review by CNN. money.cnn.com/video/technology/2011/03/23/t-tt-nintendo-3ds-review.fortune/The guy fails hard as a reviewer and clearly knows nothing about gaming handhelds! Makes me rage how the tagline (before video starts) says 'no match for the iPhone'. What a load of t***, it's not a phone its a revolutionary 3D gaming device. This breakdown someone posted on Reddit adds to the LOL."I've taken the pleasure of analyzing / annotating this video:
0:09 - it is "a gameboy like device." That statement already starts it off wrong for me. It does have features that the gameboys had, but really, calling it a "gameboy like device" devalues it. The 3DS could more accurately be referred to as nintendo's next handheld, an improvement on the previous DSi, or anything such as that. Saying it's like a gameboy is like saying that a racing car is a bicycle like device. yes, it plays games, has a screen, and has controls. So has every other handheld by every company to my knowledge.
0:20 - 3D effects give games "some extra pop." Sorry, not a big deal, but that seems like a horrible term for conveying actual information. Pop should be reserved for sounds, male parents, or sodas, not visuals. "I want the website to 'pop' more" to take a real world quote. What does that even mean? The 3D games have some extra pop.
0:22 - "... slider on the right side lets you crank up or tone down the [3D] effects." okay, that's all good except he continues to say "so if you want those [3D] graphics in your face crank it up to the maximum." Unneeded. We don't need you to repeat twice in a row that the slider, in fact, does control the amount of 3D effect. He does mention that it can be set down to 2D, but he didn't need to say it so verbosely.
0:40 - the graphics are "pretty good, a lot better than the post-dated stuff we saw on previous Nintendo game devices." Nice little slander. But okay, that's nice. The graphics are "pretty good." Why not "very good?" Oh wait, you're about to get to that...
0:42 - the graphics are "definitely not PlayStation 3 quality, for instance." My god man, a handheld device with a graphics chip the size of your thumb can't outperform the giant black monolith which happens to have over 2 times the graphics card speed (neglecting all the cards other benefits) and roughly 100 times the processing power. This comment here really makes the video. Because my ps3 has better graphics I'll just carry it around in my pocket and play games on it instead. I could go on and on with this but it's just too easy. It's like shooting a barnyard while standing inside it.
0:44 - The graphics have "definitely reached a point where hardcore gamers, ..., won't mind playing around on this thing." Umm... Graphics and hardcore gaming are not equal. They're, perhaps, correlated some, but really. The best definition of a hardcore gamer is someone who devotes a lot of time to playing games and, in general, is competitive about it. I know some people who spent hours beating Megaman, Ghosts and Zombies, and all those other "Nintendo hard" games on the NES. I don't think the fact that the graphics were a little low quality made them "mind playing around" with the games.
0:45 - " grew up on Halo." This point really added nothing. It was just another component to his faulty hardcore gamer bit. Figured I'd put it because I can't see why there's any reason to say that.
1:38 - "Also, gamer friendly competitors such as the iPhone and the iPod touch..." Gamer friendly? You were just talking about hardcore gaming and graphics! I can promise you that the iPhone's graphics and processing power all far below the PS3 as well. In addition, I don't see them as gamer friendly. Are there any good multiplayer shooters on the iPhone? Any games that are, going by your previous definition (or lack), hardcore? In addition, you say "gamer friendly?" The 3DS was created for video games. The iPhone and iPod were, arguably, made to make phone calls and listen to music. I cannot see how this stretch works by any means.
1:39 - "The iPhone and iPod touch are technically cheaper." The problem is the iPhone has a plan to pay for it. The fair comparison is the price without the plan... which is retail $800 though I found it at $640 on Newegg. This statement is just a flat out lie. I really hate it when people say "technically" while ignoring all technicalities.
1:54 - "Nintendo says that the battery should be good for about 5 hours of gameplay." Actually, that's a lie. Do your research. See the official spec page which says about 3-5 hours. "But with 3D on, volume and brightness up, we got a little more than 3 hours." Well then. You performed slightly better than Nintendo promised. The cited 3 hours to charge is also shorter than the given time on the Nintendo page linked.
2:23 - The 3DS "does 1 thing, does it well, but features a sort of retro looking design." You know, something that works great but doesn't looks so pretty is horrible. Especially when you compare it to iDevices which don't play games well but darn they look sleek. In addition, appearance is highly subjective; I find the 3DS attractive to give a counter example.
2:30 - "It also relies exclusively on cartridges. Something we haven't seen since the last gameboy pretty much. You can't download the content and the ? (I really can't get that word) develop for it." All false. It relies primarily on cartridges, however it can also download Virtual Console titles and has built in games. The SD card slot has promise. In addition, cartridges are very common and have been seen more recently in, to pick the easy example, the DSi. As for "can't develop"... Since you're comparing to iDevices, developing for those is a pain and probability is your app gets rejected anyways.
2:42 - "It also features a stylus, something we haven't seen since palm devices in the early 2000s." Here he looses even more credibility as he clearly never touched the system's predecessors. In addition, styluses are quite common in a various items still. So, that's pretty much the whole review from that guy. Overall, his points were based on lies about half the time and meaningless the rest of the time. His one accurate point that I'll give him is that the iDevices CAN do more. But that's okay because all the 3DS tries to do is be an awesome and innovative gaming device. The iDevices aren't trying to be gaming devices and for the most part the games are little "Angry Birds" and Tower Defense indie ideas. The chance of any serious game with no controls other than a touchscreen and a button with pitiful resolution? Nil. Sorry about the massive post, I suppose it's more for cathartic reasons than because it's actually useful. For the most part what I said is close to common knowledge. tl;dr: Guy lies and makes Curly's Underwear on head retarded comments." www.reddit.com/r/gamernews/comments/gaqyg/cnn_allows_a_person_who_grew_up_playing_halo_to/

Grade A douche.
Although he's right about 1 thing; Nintendo missed a trick by not setting up some kind of digital distribution platform for the 3DS.
In this day and age, it will suffer for that - making it cartridge only and having no digital distribution method restricts game development for the 3DS purely to AAA game developers, since indie guys cannot afford the manufacturing and marketing that selling cartridges entails.

Even if it's a quadrillion times better than Crysis, it would still be shit. How many times better is it?

No, the "day one" patch removed auto-aim. Auto-aim was in the demo - it wasn't in the retail release. And it's not "console-fied" - it's just embraced some modern FPS norms, thus making it basically not a mind-numbingly boring tech demo, like Crysis 1. I'm really, really enjoying it. Way more than I thought I would... Go check out the fuckloads of screenies i've taken on Steam... here

Go check out the fuckloads of screenies i've taken on Steam... hereFair enough if it was a day one patch.. and at least they're listening to fan feedback - But it still shouldn't have been in there in the first place. The signs of a proper console port maybe I'll steal this game when I can be bothered... I already downloaded the leaked beta last month but deleted it without even installing it because I just couldn't be bothered with another generic first person shooter with fancy graphics... Ergo I've started re-playing a medieval city builder/ trading game Also, I've started work on my own generic FPS game... But I have nothing to show yet.
