We should probably ditch the "Smurf Server" Hamachi thing now and setup a proper "OS Gamers" one... Hamachi has been taken over by LogMeIn.. So I f I create a brand newHamachi group, we'll be able to administer it properly.. Also when people format (or delete hamachi), as long as you back up your Hamachi files you'll have the exact same IP address (and won't appear in the list twice) Thoughts? Do it, old group is over-crowded.

What is the average game time like? Looks like a min of 6 hours.

Depends really, how many AI? What difficulty AI? Size of galaxy?
It can be Civ4 epic in timescale, it can be a very small galaxy with very little movement, encouraging quick warmongering.
But with the ability to save games, and change AI difficulty levels on the fly, you can play it over several days or weeks or whatever.

Password: Same as usual. If you don't know the pass, just ask someone. The group is also registered to my account so I can delete accounts should the need arise this time

I played a solo game last night with pirates and 2 cpu's. The Damn CPU's did nothing to me the entire game (think they paid pirates to do the bad work) and then Bammo - 2 GIANT armada's show up and wipe me out. They actually teamed up and ... double teamed me..!
Was quite cool when it happened, a real *o shit* moment and I appreciate the fact that AI is good enough to do that. Didn't help that I only just figured out a couple of minutes earlier that I could increase fleet capacity through research...
Think I have the hang of it now anyway, count me in for a game of this as soon as I'm back online!

You can change the AI's personality when you setup a game, expansionist, hostile, tech-tree etc, sounds like they were a bit introverted for a while and kept to themselves, keeping you busy with the pirates....then BOOM! ;D

Well the pirates actually served to build up my defences. Would have pissed all over me otherwise! I have an idea how to do bounty stuff now, and also how to expand fleet so will have a better run at it next time.
Going to have a game of it tonight, if my internet is fixed i'll try and hook up himachi too.
