I played it last night (multiplayer with Stu & terry) and I 'literally' fell asleep!
NEVER have I fallen asleep in front of a game before... NEVER!

Games not boring, like all "civilisation"-esque games, first hour is "setup" time;
- low resources - low amount of units - low amount of cities/planets - minimal exploration - very little "war" or diplomacy
Me and terry continued to save your ass from the pirates whilst you were "asleep", and even upped the bounty on the other guys to get them off you in general.
We saved the game, it was going quite well.
If your ready to write it off after 5 mins, which wouldn't surprise me but hey, we'll start a new game just me and terry........and anyone else who might give it a go?

If I did play it again it wouldn't be before I'd played all of the tutorials - Which was my downfall in the game.
But to be honest, IMO, It just doesn't hold up to CIV IV and similar games i've played.

I REALLY REALLY don't know how you can fall asleep playing games, like seriosuly, how?! And you usually fell asleep when we were doing stuff too, not just moving from one place to the next! I got Civ II for Christmas many moons ago, loved every second of it.

Just read up on this, looks interesting but can't seem to find where it's on sale from? Is it purely online? Seems to have solo campaign but not much about that.
Looks very like homeworld with an updated economy system?

Not a bad game, certainly slow to start and the combat isn't overly interactive. Fun though and could be a superb late night lan game.
Is 3 the maximum number of players?

That's the beauty of the combat - if you want depth, you can micromanage their abilities and so on, or you can let the AI take the reins. Max players is 10 i think! We should play over hamachi, rob, me and terry have it and i'm sure i could proliferate it some more to the less "narrow-minded" of us ;D

Could be up for that, do I need a CD key? Not over hamachi, no. And you can save games to continue them later. I'm still using my torrent version since i cant find anywhere to buy it outside of the U.S yet...

Obviously Hamachi is a centrally-managed zero-configuration virtual private network (VPN) freeware application capable of establishing direct links between computers that are behind NAT firewalls Source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamachi

We use it all the time. In non-geek speak, it's a small program that "tricks" windows into thinking you're on a LAN. A LAN over the internet, sure, but still a lan. So, we all join the same "group" on hamachi, and we all run the program. When you go into a game and select "LAN game", sure enough any games we make are displayed, as if we were on a real LAN. We use it all the time to play multiplayer games together, the types you don't need dedicated servers for, or the types we don't currently have cd-keys for! ;D

We should probably ditch the "Smurf Server" Hamachi thing now and setup a proper "OS Gamers" one...
Hamachi has been taken over by LogMeIn.. So I f I create a brand newHamachi group, we'll be able to administer it properly.. Also when people format (or delete hamachi), as long as you back up your Hamachi files you'll have the exact same IP address (and won't appear in the list twice)
Thoughts?
