Saw the last night and it was farking brilliant! Anyone who likes them, it's the tightest they've been in years. My bro reckons it's the best he's seen them since 1996!

Well, i have "acquired" the new Metallica album, am listening to it now, and the loudness is fucking atrocious. It distorts at high frequencies and stuff. Its fucking awful. I did some research to see wtf was going on. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war

Yep it sucks. You lose your dynamic range when you do that.
I recently downloaded a remastered version of a Megadeth album (so I could hear Hangar 18), and it's really bad compared to the original because they've fucked with it too much... When you increase the loudness, you lose the subtle sounds
