When we reached rank 10 we were able to specify the colours for our guild banner (not the actual design yet but its a start).
Has this been done yet? and if so could someone post a screenie of the banner for all to see and bask in its white dawny gloriousness? ;D

I think someone is (or has) worked on it over the last few days, although I'm not 100% sure.

I think someone is (or has) worked on it over the last few days, although I'm not 100% sure. I had a quick look at this and yes we can specify colours. I didn't want to confirm it staright away though as the cost to reserver is 10 Gold. I wanted to through it open to everyone on their preferences for colour schemes. We need a Main colour and a secondary colour. Also we can choose a small emblem to go on it, but without having the list of what they are in front of me I'm noit sure of the options available. So: Primary Colour: Secondary Colour: Emblem (or as close as we can get):

I didnt think we could add the emblem for a few more ranks yet but we could just do the colours? that makes things all the most interesting! i assume the primary colour is a big block colour for the main of the cloak and the secondary is the thin border that goes around the edge?...if that is the case i would say.... Primary colour: a very pale blue (imagine if you will a clear cloudless sky just after sunrise on a winters day...that kind of blue ) Secondary colour: havnt really thought about it much but maybe a very bold dark blue, sort of royal blue type colour (but not if it makes the primary colour looked washed out) Emblem: im going for the obvious here... a sun rise? so with a horizen line and the sun almost fully above it...maybe 4/5 visable, with ground being very dark and the sun being... you guessed it...WHITE! or as pale a yellow as you can get....i know thats probably way to specific... but hey im at work and a little bored!

Its not the guild emblem no, that comes at level 20. It is just a bunch of pictures, kind of like wing dings in word. Primary Colour: Total agreement, I was wanting a pale blue one ,it looks smart. Secondary Colour: My choice would be bright yellow or indeed gold. Emblem: Nice idea, will put it in the ideas book until we get level 20. Oh and bored at work is my middle name at the moment

Whilst these are capes and not banners, you get the idea. 1st is the style of image availalbe to us now o nthe banner. 2nd is the style of emblem we can have later. Personally I prefer the first one. The emblem on the lower one looks poorly superimposed, plus the colours don't go, for me!

Remember the emblem we had in Warcraft? I thought it was quite nice and suitable. Colours were red white and gold. www.merciless-gilde.com/tabbard/tabbard-49-3-1-100-3.jpgMy armour colour code as mentioned above is Gold and Orange / Tan. I think we should ideally go for a main guild colour template which mathces what our guild colour is going to be. I think the colours I would associate with dawn are white gold orange tan and red. I'm not that pushed (although I did get a tomb unlock for vanity because i've dyed my gear so often). meh...

i agree, the second cape look bad! as you say, bad colours and poorly super imposed! the destruction cloaks get a way cooler distribution of primary and secondary colours than order do! all we get is a big rectangly surrounded by a think straight edged boarder isnt it?

Spot on the order ones are a tad boring in comparison.

I think Morlu must have seen that somewhere before as his description nailed it on the head.

Time to add my two pence to the dicsussion (and for peeps who haven't seen my welcome HELLO). I do indeed really like the old banner! It really is striking and it does stand out! We do need something that does catch the eye of people as is befiting our guild! I like to think that we do stand out as being a friendly guild first and formost So yes i do like the old school design and if we can incorporate that it would be awesome. However in the mean time something that resembles it would be good too! If we are to add the image onto the cape and have teh caoe background not change then it will look rather dull as it stands with just a pale white background and faint yellow symbols in the middle. Most if not all capes are white and therefore would look too much like the un guilded cloack IMO. So what options are available to us ? What would look good with the Awesome design mounted on it? My way of seeing it is to have a dark banner and have the WHITE DAWN spread out from it, ie a black background with the pale yellow/ white sun rising through it. In a way it does symbolise the guild name! The destruction (boo evil dark colour) is being lit up by our white dawn (yay nice and bright colour of the goodies ). However as always i deffer to what the guild thinks and i have to say i will go with what Razorik says as so far he has not lead me astray

Is there any online design tool as with warcraft banners that we can use to submit concepts?
I'll have a look now.
In the meantime, from my experience actually painting warhammer models over the last year I would suggest that we keep it simple and use contrast. Avoid black or white as background colour and generally speaking try go light on dark.
We might also group up at a merchant next time were going to take RvR zones and set a collective colour scheme. Doesn't have to be mandatory, but at least we settle on colours and it should help us stand out as a group / guild in mass combat. Again - i find that Orange / tan is a great mix, and suitable for the 'dawn' theme.
