The dmeo thread was getting a little long, so I think it's time to put it to bed and start a FULL GAME thread. Just found this achivement on left4dead411.com.. Interesting... Could be some surprises in store

Well, me, andré, rik + 1 random just played the "No Mercy" campaign right through until the final 5th part.
This was on "advanced" and was fairly tricky, but the finale, involving holding off multiple swarms until the chopper gets in - fuck it's insane! we're yet to do it!

That last part is indeed very tricky, problem is the tank mainly. He just rips through everyone. I even got flung off the top of the skyscaper by him. It is quite a relentless section. Very good fun.

Going home in less than 1 hour...
Have you guys beaten it yet? Apparently takes around 2.5 hours for the whole game on regular / advanced.

Sorry to go off topic, but someone locked the other thread (I think). I'm gonna download Steam etc, however, have no recollection of passwords, user names etc, but hopefully can get the from some email!
Will I be able to get CS etc which I would've gotten for free with HL2 etc?

Ok...so after playing last night..
NO MERCY = Awesome. gets quiote difficult in the narrow twisting corridors of the hospital, and the epic finale is rather cool.
DEATH TOLL = More awesome! Completely different from the first scenario ... Zombies running from trees, set in a small suburb town.. The finale is truly epic. Took us 2.5 hours on "Hard", killing over 3000 infected!...(inc. 3 or 4 tanks)
VERSUS = AWESOME! Although the servers were dogy last night, Teryy, Rik & I got into a team game with some randoms.. and its a different strategy when you're dealing with human zombies! Also, playing as the infected just feels like Griefing.. It's great fun!
Definately good to try when there's more of us on.
I know some people have ordered the actual hard copy of the game, and won't get it until Frdiday - So how about we organise a big game on friday evening? Everyone up for it?
8 Player VERSUS FTW!

Well guys - whats the verdict?
I played all the way through No Mercy on advanced - almost completed the finale but didn't quite make it. Very enjoyable experience, the level design is larger and harder than expected.
I tried the first 10 minutes of the last scenario (farm one) - it's quite cool, pretty scary and a totally different scenario which is nice. Am trying not to play too much before Friday as I want it to be fresh for the lan session im hosting. Speaking of which - you can add 4 people to the list of availables on Friday, were going to be playing from around 6:30 until late on Saturday evening.
Hospital scene was cool in No Mercy - the rooftop was quite epic, and it was groovy looking down over the buildings below. I was trying to pick out the building where you start but couldn't - I'm certain it would be there though!
Scariest scene so far - getting rushed in the sewers, man I shit myself (best place to do it too).
Game is masterful, going to be awesome!

Love it. The weapons, the team play, the ai, being an infected, level design, the music.
The game is exceptional on so many levels.
I will be up for some major versus games, that was so much fun last night and I can only see games getting better when you learn all the facets of the infected. I found Hunter a bit tough, but that random guy with us showed that bouncing off walls can be done successfully.
Can't wait for more action.

Haven't tried the versus yet - was too late by the time you guys got to it last night. Didn't have any problems finding servers which was nice, only waited once and then got in straigt away the second time. Are the respawn timers on versus mode a little bit longer?

Sometimes the respawn timers can seem a bit too long when you are the infected, but it is ok really.
The main thing I have noticed in gameplay is that the survivors basically have to speed rush to the safe zone, avoiding as much stuff as they can. SHORT CUT is the answer. The infected need to pick a spot where they can distribute the angst one after another.
i.e. Boomer first to get the swarm in there followed by a smoker taking out any stragglers. There is a lot of fun to be had on both. We definately need to get a 4v4 going ASAP, working with comms makes a huge difference.
Having said that /i played with some randoms before and for some reason i could hear the chatter of the opposite team so i could hear all their planning. Was funny when one of their hunter guys said out loud 'Oh this guys so dead hes walking so slow, hehe'. I heard him turned round and popped him straight in the head as he entered the train. 'WTF' was his response lol

The interteam chatter is a server side settings

Completed the boat escape one tonight on advanced - was fun and difficult in parts but fairly doable. Last part is pretty epic - defending the Boat House against a couple of hundred Zeds and 2 tanks.
2 days til Lan session - BRING IT!
