Ok, ok. Let's get this bit out of the way. You all know i fucking loved Mass Effect 1. I loved the universe, the depth of backstory, i'm a sci-fi geek. I'm not a huge RPG fan, but i don't think i've ever played a Bioware RPG i didn't enjoy immensely. Anyways, Mass Effect 2 is here and i've been playing it solid for a few hours. Fucking Awesome. That's all i'm gonna say. Improved in every aspect especially the combat. Now plays more like a third person shooter, ala Gears, very fluid. But with all the RPG stuff. It's out a week today, on the 29th. Now, i've obviously "aquired" it (cue link); www.rlslog.net/mass-effect-2-razor1911/...but if you like it, go buy it. I've got it on pre-order for the 360 (i have my 360 end-of-game save file from ME1, so i can pick-up where my actual game left off, all decisions and character deaths/consequences carried over). Edit: Just found this little nugget; "Thankfully, there's already an achievement that confirms that your whole team can pull through.
Conversely, there's a chance that every character, yourself included, can die permanently."Shepard can die in ME2, making him unavailable in ME3. WTF, how's that work?! ;D Awesome... Here's the epic launch trailer;

Well, I've played for about half an hour and it seems better than the last one.
Controls are a LOT more fluid than the first game - This one doesn't *feel* like a port.. Mouse is fluid and easy to aim. Using space for everything (go to cover, break cover, jump over cover, use item, open door, sprint, etc) is a bit weird but I'll get used to it.
Graphics are awesome.. Acting is ok.. Despite the game really trying to explain WTF is going on I really have no idea at the moment because of not getting very far in the first game.
I'll play some more tommorow and see how it pans out - Definately seems better than the first IMO.

The simply fantastic music in that trailer is made by a music production company called 2 steps from hell, who make movie trailer music and so forth...
Up to a few days ago, all the comments were re: the music. But since Jan 20th, they're all about Mass Effect 2, haha ;D

It's a great game.. And they've done many improvements over the first game (On PC at least).. But it's still a little bit "consoley". In contrast, changing armour and weapon set in Dragon age was a very simple drag&drop click-fest. In Mass Effect there's a lots of menus to navigate through. For me, it's harder to quickly compare different guns and knowing which research to conduct etc, as I can't compare them easily. Still, this is my only annoyance with the game, and it's not game breaking - Maybe they'll address it for episode 3

It's nice that they're giving stuff away for fre.. But I don't belive anyone can get truly excited over a piece of armour and fucking shotgun. Give u extra missions, extra characters, extra locations, etc then I may respect you Bioware

They're working on alsorts, and the senior producer said they'll add stuff based on "community feedback", presumably official forums and the like. But still, you can't complain about FREE stuff, si

Gang, 2 questions: 1) I am currently playing Mass Effect in order to immerse myself in ME2 when i get to level 60 however i am wondering how point allocation works for a level 60 character in ME2. do i get to reallocate the points i distributed getting myself to 60, do i lose some (if, for example, they have discontinued skills) or do all skills carry over and i am stuck with what i have? 2) please explain how this xbox online thing works...obviously i need a wireless adaptor to connect to home hub. then i need to get points to buy the stuff online. On top of these points do i need one of the memberships to Xbox live, or can i get DLC without membership....am confused cheers :-)

There's new skills, so you get to reallocate. You can also change class
