It's called experience Stuart. Maybe you need to get some. 100% of battlefield single player games I gave played were utter shut. Not just bad. Shit. Boring. Uninteresting. Things can change with this iteration but my judgement stands based on hard FACTS of a previous experience.
It's not hard to understand Stuart.

Ugh, don't start, Barnett. It's all the usual anti-EA drama that r/gaming circlejerk all over. It's gonna record your hardware, what games you play on Origin and probably what you buy/browse on Origin. Nothing else, in reality. Steam already does this, but r/gaming love to jizz all over Valve. Plus, why do we all feel we're so important EA need to know what we're doing? They're welcome to see all the porn I browse if they like ;D

If EA want my information they should allow me to opt in or out. It's stupid in this day an age to assume corporations know how to protect your data! Moreover it's a blatant invasion of privacy! simple! Hence i'll be doing everything I can to circumvent it out of principal and sending a customised email to EA.

Some quotes I found which explain it better than I;
"No. Are people really this daft? Just because an EULA allows for something, doesn't mean that a program does it. If I wrote an EULA saying "this program may transmit dinosaurs to your living room" that does not mean the software is actually doing so... EULA terminology doesn't directly translate into program functionality... The EULA does not compile to a 32 bit binary. If Origin monitored every activity on your PC, any anti-virus or anti-spyware software would be throwing out warnings left and right... It doesn't, there is no proof that it does, this is all speculation and fear mongering. At least the OP is smart enough to realize the EULA only gives them the RIGHT, not the CAPABILITY."
"Do you read half the EULA's you agree to? If every company took full advantage of the terms set forth in their EULA's, then no one would be buying any products with EULA's due to all the outrageous rights that they grant companies. Companies aren't going to do something that loses them tons of business (like abusing private information). If they do, they won't stay in business very long. By your logic, no one should be using Steam either, because their subscriber agreement allows for just as much abuse of the consumer, if not more. If Valve wanted to, they could ban everyone from playing their games, and give no refunds. Just because it is in a EULA doesn't mean the company has any intention of ever using it to the worst possible degree..."
"You know how much work would have to go into positively detecting pirated software? Not only would you have to compile a library of known cracks for thousands of titles, but then you would also have no guarantee that a person doesn't own a legitimate license (like you), and is only using a 'crack' to remove unwanted DRM... Even if they did spend hundreds of thousands of dollars developing such detection, then what? EA only has your personal information (Name/address) if you give it to them. You can have an Origin account without any of this information being tied to it. So, at that point, EA would have to somehow explain to an ISP that it thinks, maybe, you have illegal software....? Sorry, but this scenario doesn't make any sense..."
It's for these reasons I'm gonna file this yet again retarded drama under not an issue...

I like this point:
"Most of that reads as "we reservethe rights to monitor your currently used memory for stuff that lets you cheat at our game." and "we get to monitor your machine performance and report back non-personal information to try and improve the game for everyone ." EA's one reads more "we get to monitor everything on your machine, regardless of if it has anything to do with the game and we get to report back what ever the hell we want. I don't mind then making sure that hacking apps aren't running at the same time as the game, I don't mind them taking metrics on my hardware and working maths on the performance I get from it. I do mind them taking whatever they want, selling it to whoever they like to do what ever they want with."

Lots of detail here around all the game modes, what they involve and any changes from previous Battlefield games. Lots to do, and great that every gamemode is available on every map at launch. Just an FYI; There might only be "9" maps, but those 9 maps are huge. They're huge for the 64 player games, and get sized down and changed slightly for every other game mode, so the TDM 24 player version will be very different to the 64 player Conquest version. Also, Back to Karkand adds another 4 maps anyways uk.pc.gamespy.com/pc/battlefield-3/1194745p1.htmlTeam DeathmatchAvailability: On all 9 maps Players: 24 (12 vs. 12) Focus: Team Based Infantry Combat Goal: Eliminate a set number of enemy combatants Winning the game: The team that reaches the set kill number first is declared the winner
Details from DICE: "Team Deathmatch is of the true classics when it comes to multiplayer game modes, and a game mode that makes its first appearance in a Battlefield game since the original Battlefield 1942. In Team Deathmatch, two teams of 12 players each duke it out on tight knit maps with a distinct infantry focus – there are no vehicles available in Team Deathmatch. For that quick instant action fix, this is the perfect game mode. For players new to Battlefield, this is a good place to start. Once you get the hang of the infantry gameplay, you can move on to deeper modes that include the signature vehicle warfare for which Battlefield is known and loved."
Squad Deathmatch Availability: On all 9 maps Players: 16 (4 squads of 4) Focus: Squad Based Infantry Combat Goal: Eliminate a set number of enemy combatants Winning the game: The squad that reaches the set kill number first is declared the winner
Details from DICE: "Squad Deathmatch is a larger and more dynamic variety of deathmatch that also features the inclusion of an Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). The IFV can help break a deadlock, as long as you keep it alive with solid Engineer gameplay. The 4 squad setup means that there is a constant battle throughout the game to gain and maintain the lead. Sticking together, keeping your squad healed up, supplied, and repaired are the keys to victory. The squad that can combine the potent Battlefield mix of team play and combat prowess will be proven the winner."
Rush Availability: On all 9 maps Players: 24/32 (Console/PC) Focus: Objective Based All-out Warfare Goal: Attack/defend M-COM stations Winning the game: Destroy all M-COM stations/Deplete the attackers tickets (Attackers/Defenders)
Details from DICE: "First introduced in Battlefield: Bad Company, Rush has now made its way to the heart of the Battlefield series in Battlefield 3. An objective based mode, the attackers have to arm and detonate pairs of M-COM stations in each area of the map to unlock the next area and the next pair of M-COM stations. While defenders have an unlimited amount of spawn tickets, attackers only get new tickets every time they destroy a pair of M-COMs. If all M-COM stations on the entire map are destroyed, the attackers are declared the winning team. If the defenders manage to deplete the attacker's tickets to zero (by killing them), the defenders are declared the winners."
Tweaks/Changes to Rush Mode in BF3: -- You cannot use explosives or shoot at the M-COM to take it out. Only arm and disarm. -- If the attacking team arms the M-COM but runs out of tickets, the match will continue until the M-COM detonates or defenders disarm it. -- If the defenders start disarming an M-COM just before it's about to blow, the explosion is prevented until the disarm is accomplished. If the defender gets killed during the disarm process, the M-COM will instantly blow."
Squad Rush Availability: On all 9 maps Players: 8 (4 vs. 4) Focus: Squad Based Infantry Combat Goal: Attack/defend M-COM stations Winning the game: Destroy all M-COM stations/Deplete the attacker's tickets (Attackers/Defenders)
Details from DICE: "Squad Rush is the ultimate test to show which squad is the best of the best. Squad Rush is an extremely tight duel between two squads that borrows the main rules from normal Rush, but in a much more intimate setting. In Squad Rush there are only 2 bases with 1 M-COM station per base, meaning that every M-COM taken or defended in Squad Rush is vital to the victory or defeat of the game. There are no vehicles in Squad Rush, so it's all down to your infantry fighting skills."
Conquest Availability: On all 9 maps Players: 24/32 or 64 (Console/PC) Focus: Objective Based All-out Warfare Goal: Capture and Hold Flags Winning the game: Deplete opposing team's tickets
Details from DICE: "Conquest is without a doubt the most classic of Battlefield game modes. Introduced in Battlefield 1942, Conquest has defined the entire Battlefield series (and influenced a lot of other games out there) and encompasses everything that makes Battlefield great. Set over a series of large-scale maps, Conquest is the game mode best suited for the experience of all-out vehicle warfare. In Conquest, two teams fight for control of a number of flags by being the dominant force in the vicinity of each base. Capture and keep control of a majority of the flags and the enemy team will bleed tickets. Killing enemies will also reduce their ticket count, and the first team to run out of tickets loses."
In addition to the multiplayer game modes detailed above, DICE confirmed that server browser options will allow players to select if they want to play Infantry Only matches or if they would like to up the challenge in Hardcore mode.

I'm not "dismissive" of Rush, I like it, so long as i'm playing with you guys. A decent squad working together can make the difference. Playing Rush on your own with randoms is a lesson in frustration and futility. That's all Compare that to TDM or Conquest, where you can at least add some value on your own.
