I agree with barnett.
It's going to be full of nerd/geek losers who get excited over computer software more than they should :/

No. But I was asked-- I'm open minded, nd after some though, I thought for a tenr i might be a goo day out with friends. It's not something I'd choose to go to n my own - Only going cos I was asked. I think th level of geekiness will really piss me off though

That gif is from Castle.
If you don't watch Castle, you should, it's really good. Nathan Fillion pretty much plays himself, and it's totally a girlfriend friendly TV show, Bridget loves it...

I think every BF3 player should be made to watch a video like this And then answer a series of questions before being allowed to play... For example: Which is best for your team: a) Spawning and running towards point to capture it. b) Sniping like a bitch from the back If they get the wrong answer their game should be deleted and cd-key blocked!

Some people in r/gaming make sense www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/l95re/ea_store_games_lost_due_to_origin_any_way_around/c2qty61"So fucking true. I work with a guy who absolutely LOVES gaming and the very idea that he would not have BF3 on the day it came out is heresy to him. I've had to listen to him bitch & whine about the fact that he can't get onto the Beta every day for the last two weeks, it's like he thinks it's a fucking human rights issueI told him I wasn't planning on buying CoD:MW3 or BF3 because I sincerely doubt that they're anything more than new maps for old games and he thought I was friggin' crazy. He agreed that they would be rehashes of the same fucking concepts and gameplay that is years old, he just thought I was an idiot for not wanting to get them both on the first day anyway. Excuse my rant, your comment touched a nerve. Gaming will stay this way for as long as people buy this shit."

BF3 is much slower and deeper than BC2, and a decent evolution of BF2.

Dude. Your record seems stuck. Learn to change it The post is about the state of FPS gaming in general, not game X vs Game Y -- Which is getting really old. End of the day we both know which game is better, and we both know which will be polished to fuck and lacking bugs on launch due the engine refinement over the years, whilst the other will contain a shit load of bugs, dodgy performance on lower end system, along with other annoyances and short sightedness thanks to the development of a new engine thanks to either short sightedness, or good business decisions (which are bad for players) --Although on a sidenote, EA/Dice have receded after multiple user complaints and have allegedly put in full squad management INSIDE the game (although we must wait to see if that's just marketing BS).. VOIP is still restricted to people you know via Battlelog.. Which is still a really shit system for a game that has squads and wants to promote teamwork to get objectives done... Hopefully they'll change this after launch if feedback is still the same... Can't be that hard to LEAVE IN functionality the console versions have (Albeit, probably handled through each consoles own proprietary system). -- Incidentally I've been playing SWAT4 recently.. Highly tactical game with VOIP *inside* the game with Team & squad management, etc -- And that's 6 years old! I'll be geting both MW3 and BF3... One thing I like about MW3 is that it will cost me £40 to play decently Whilst BF3 will cost me about £200 (need new GFX Card) ... And no other games needs me to spend that money at this time Sad times. This is one area where Consoles win.. Cos I couldn't give a shit about fancy graphics as long as the game is good. Also, (I don't have the link), but I've seen the BF3 single player video and it's looks awesome.. very MW style with it's set pieces of on-rails game play -- But looks a lot more exciting the the snore-fest that was BC2

The beta was a month old build on launch. And they put squad management in game because users asked for it - though I was fine with it in Battlelog, i'm not gonna complain.

Facts: 1. Squad management WAS shit in Battlelog. Only morons think otherwise... Hence they've changed it - Wrong. Squad management didn't work in the beta, and that was acknowledged by the devs from day 1. They explained on the forums how it would work in retail. Only fucking retards continued to judge it on how it was in the beta, even after they said its not working but is in the retail version.2. The alpha ran a lot better on my system than the beta... because the beta fucking sucked donkey ass! - Wrong. Kinda. The alpha contained much lower res textures, and was missing many of the graphical bells and whistles, most of which were turned on by default in the beta (such as motion blur etc, which couldnt be disabled). Hey, maybe that's why the performance was lower? Fucks sake, you're more intelligent than this. Use some common sense.

Nice points. BUT... in the beta I had to set my graphics on the LOWEST possible setting.. It still doesn't work as well.. This is a FACT on my computer.. I can't comment for others.
Using Battlelog for squad management still sucked Stuart - If i'm playing alone as an engineer I need to be able to view squads and see which squad DOESN'T have an engineer.. I then need the ability to join that squad to help the team overall.
BF3 tries to emphasise teamwork, but without the ability to properly setup teams, you might as well be playing MW3... I'm glad they've changed it.
Also, I'm out of the hardware loop.. Any reccomendations on Graphics cards?

Partly correct. battlefield maps are big -- This can be annoying at times. I, myself prefer a smaller number of players that I can keep killing and build a rivalry up in skirmish games. COD made have had the same "feel" for a while, because they need to work a certain way to force people to get a certain number of kills, to unlock killstreaks, etc. I don't care if every map ever made "feels" the same, as long as they're good Swat 3, Swat4, and Swat 4 expansion maps all have the same close quarters feel .. All fantastic ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The highway map looks great though.. I prefer urban style to deserts, etc Plus the description says it's very tight, infantry only.. Should be some good fire fights in there Also, that author is a dick who needs to do some homework.. At the bottom of the article he claims there's 13 maps available on launch.. Maybe he didn't get the memo about the "additional" maps come months after the games release :/ -- (unless something's changed that I don't know about?)

You forget, Simon, that these 9 maps are all playable in every game mode - so the 64 player Conquest version is huge, the 24 player Team Deathmatch version is scaled down and tight, cod-style infantry-only. The Back to Karkand pack is finished, I believe, but for whatever reason it's being released shortly after launch. But lets be honest - if we get hit with 4 of the greatest battlefield maps ever 3-4 weeks after launch, you may aswell talk as if the game has 13 maps - whats 4 weeks in a game with a 5+ year lifespan?

I'm only interested in Wake Island (as it's the only one I can remember). As I was robbed of playing it when Dice cancelled their PC port of their last project! Grrr! (or was it just epic-delayed to the point of no-one caring?) Also.. FUCK YEAH... Ribbons are now slanted!!! I'm glad they did beta testing to sort this shit out Seriously, some good additions to retail version though: mp1st.com/2011/10/13/bf3-squad-specs-visible-team-deaths-added-option-and-more-a-dissection-of-the-near-final-build/The fact you can see which class specialisations your squad mates are will help with team work no end -- This alone justifies why in-game squad management is required
