No seriously, she loved WoW but couldn't bring herself to collect rat ears for another 30 levels and combined with me loosing interest that was the end of our wow days. On the other hand, if Conan is combat based and more adventurous then were in.

I have just done a fair bit of browsing about the game and I'm pretty sure I shall give it a purchase. It seems to have some nice variety to it and hopefully it will have a more mature player base. The only issue I have with buying any mmo game is will we stick at it as a clan, or will half drift back to WoW again leaving 4 or 5 of us twiddling our thumbs again waiting for the next game release. PROBABLY

Well, I expect certain people to run back to WOW to get their fix... I, however, love the idea of Conan and really would like to be in an active guild.. Able to take part in seige battles etc. Even if members of this clan DON'T "run back to wow", I'd still like to be in a large, active guild in order to get the most out of the game. So (Rik).. I'd like to state that if Conan is good, and I enjoy it i'll be a long time player looking to join large active guild.. Not to do bullshit raids over and over again.. But to just participate in the full politics and large scale warfare

I might come across as a bit of a nazi.. Scrub that idea But you dont have an opinion on SWG - you know nowt about it. You're opinion probably begins and ends with "it's star wars...". Thus... "you don't know what you're on about".

Time to move forwards You're opinion of MMO's stems from WoW. SWG was nothing like WoW. Any of the guys on here will tell you how good SWG was (pre combat upgrade) and how great a time we had. Best MMO i ever played. And nothing like it has ever been done again. I will go out on a limb here. You are wrong. And you don't know what you're talking about.

Just to add; I'm not saying you're some retard who's opinion doesn't mean shit. I'm just saying; SWG was unique.
There was no WoW style raids and content, with a few very minor exceptions, everything was more or less player-driven.
You can try and imagine what that looked like, but you won't come close to the sheer awesomeness that was our own player-driven galactic civil war, building and defending our own town and allies towns.
Our bounty hunter squads were epic experiences - tracking a real player through the galaxy - there is STILL nothing that comes close to that in the MMO world today. Just ask Rob about the time him and me basically cleared the whole Geo Labs of every jedi there.
The thrill of the chase, and a fucking well executed kill, there still isn't a game with that level of satisfation. It helped knowing you just made them lose xp.
The open warfare, the "OMGWTFHOLYSHIT" feeling when 40 rDe alliance guild muppets would turn up at our town to try destroy our base, us trying to hold them off until the KDS reinforcements arrived.
It was unique. We mourn SOE's shallow attempts to dumb it down and make it like WoW. They killed it.
So, you don't know what you're on about. You dismiss it with the wave of a hand. And that's annoying because you truely have no idea what SWG was.

Fair enough.. Good points.. I'm not saying SWG is shite (.. Just that it won't/ doesn't interest me.. Yeah The Star wars thing puts me off, just like how a My Little Pony MMO would put you off.. But that's not the major reason. I do agree that a huge player based economy gets my interest more than doing the same boring raids and instances over and over.. But I did start to hate the old "click and wait" system of Wow that I read SWG (like most other MMOs) uses. I'm interested in Conan because of the new combat system.. and also because it forces players into mass pvp! I prefer sci-fi to fantasy any day, but i'm not a fan of the Star Wars universe.. I'm not too interested in the new Stargate MMo either... A The firefly MMo intreages me... But it depends how they do it

And that's annoying because you truely have no idea what SWG was. Wow... That nearly made me re-sign up! WoW was a better MMO simply because in 20 hours of play you would do and see and experience more. BUT... Though you would spend 15 of 20 hours in SWG doing nothing, or prepping or faffing around in guild chat, the 4 - 5 hours of ass kicking would spike your neck hair so damn hard you feel like your back would break. My UI in WoW at times was thoughtful, intricate and intensive for the role I played in raids or PvP. That said, I used to have a time sheet and stop watch for pre Hunts in SWG, weapon set macro's to harass opponents and dump several damage types on them and a whole host of batbelt like goodies to open combat with (mmm droids...). Like Stu said, Hunting jedi was the best gaming i've ever experienced, and that one late night we spent in the Genocian cave was the most epic encounter i've ever had sitting infront of a computer screen. Has anyone tried Conan yet?

I have beta access for 3 hours last sunday but I didn't experience much.. game crashes, lag, inability to login.. It wasn't the best experience.. It was a technical beta though. I'm trying to get in the PVP Beta, and i've pre-ordered the game so I get to play properly before general release
